If you have started your journey into the personal development space, you may have heard the term "limiting beliefs" numerous times. But what is it really and how we can overcome it?

Overcoming limiting beliefs is a process and does not usually happen overnight. There are people who will try but will give up when they encounter setbacks, others will push through until they have overcome it and there are those who will not even give it a try. For the latter, you better start thinking twice, as you are missing a lot in your life!🤔

I have limiting beliefs and as I go through my journey to self-development and empowerment, I am now beginning to understand that everyone has the power to make an impact and make things happen, only if we choose to. I chose to overcome it and work on it. Do not let your mind or others tell you what you can and cannot master or accomplish. We are the ones who will decide on that. So, it's time to take action!🤜

Limiting beliefs are thoughts or ideas that hold us back from reaching our full potential. These are the voices in our head telling us what we can't do and convincing us that it is our beyond reach to achieve anything else. They can prevent us from taking risks, trying new things, and achieving our goals.

To overcome limiting beliefs and unleash our true potential, here are some ways to start your journey➡️

Identify your limiting beliefs📝

The first step in overcoming limiting beliefs is to identify what they are. Take some time to reflect on what you believe to be true about yourself and the world around you. Ask yourself what thoughts or ideas hold you back from achieving your goals. Once you have identified your limiting beliefs, you can begin to work on changing them.

Challenge the evidence 👊

Limiting beliefs often have little or no evidence to support them. Challenge the evidence for your limiting beliefs by asking yourself questions like "Is this really true?" or "What is the evidence that this is true?" By questioning the evidence for your limiting beliefs, you can begin to see them as less valid.

Reframe your thoughts 💭

Once you have identified and challenged your limiting beliefs, you can start to reframe them. Instead of focusing on the negative, try to find a more positive or empowering way to think about the situation. For example, instead of thinking "I'll never be able to do that", try thinking "I may not be able to do that yet, but with practice and determination, I can improve."

Take Action 🎬

Once you have reframed your thoughts, take action toward your goals. This will help to reinforce the new, more empowering beliefs you have created and help to break the pattern of limiting beliefs.

Surround yourself with positive people 🙆🙆‍♂️

Surround yourself with people who believe in you and your abilities. They can provide support, encouragement, and perspective when you are feeling down.

Practice Self-Compassion 🤗

Be kind to yourself and don't be too hard on yourself when things don't go as planned. Instead of criticizing yourself, try to understand that everyone makes mistakes and learn from them.

Seek Professional Help 🆘

If your limiting beliefs are causing significant distress, it can be helpful to seek professional help. A therapist or counselor can help you to identify, challenge, and overcome limiting beliefs and provide you with tools and strategies to help you to achieve your goals.

Remember that overcoming limiting beliefs takes time and effort, but by taking small steps and implementing the above strategies, you can begin to release your true potential and achieve the things you desire in life.
